Helping Hand Neighborhood Clean-up

DC provides the opportunity for communities to obtain help with cleaning up our neighborhood by using fellow citizens who are asked to provide community service instead of going to jail (often for speeding violations).  Let us know if anyone wishes to oversee the project for our neighborhood association.
To ANC and Civic Leads,
CSOSA (Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency) may have availability to work with your SMDs to bring team members under their supervision out for community cleanups. You must fill out the attached form and send to Christine Barron (christine.barron@csosa.gov) to schedule.

We highly recommend that you take advantage of this free service. It does a community good and gives those under supervision an opportunity to give back and be part of something positive. You may also consider doing this on a regular basis and bringing neighbors together for coffee/donuts or lemonade/snacks after so folks can get to know one another and show appreciation for everyone’s efforts to help cleanup their community.
You can also coordinate with DPW & Helping Hands for supplies (brooms/rakes/bags/pickup).
The Helping Hand program provides tools and supplies for neighborhood clean-up and beautification projects.
