This is time sensitive and just came out the other day. The foundation is seeking 20 high school students from Ward 5 to participate in this special event. Please see below for details. Please share with residents in your community. The event is next Sat Aug 27th and they need to identify participants ASAP – first come first serve so please act now if you know anyone who would benefit from this. The Friends of Carter Barron Foundation for the Performing Arts resends this email to ensure that your public office, identifies the number of youth our 501c3 has designated to invite incoming High School youth, for our first ever Back-to-High School, Go-Go Event, scheduled for Saturday, August 27, 2022. Ms. Dougherty i have been directed to ensure your receipt of this email, so that 20 of Ward 5 youth can be in attendance, on Saturday, August 27, 2022, from 1pm intil 4pm.

The Board of Directors and Honorable Advisory Committees of the Friends of Carter Barron Foundation for the Performing Arts (“Friends Group”) seeks for your Council Office, to identify under-served and disenfranchise incoming high school 9the thru 12the grade youth, as defined with your designated number of invitees below. Interested adult parent(s)/guardian(s)/custodial supervisors in your Ward, must be present with ID, before they can enter into the Friends Group first ever Back-to-School Go-Go FREE event. This Back-to-School event has been scheduled for Saturday, August 27 from 1 pm-5 pm, at the federal and historic Carter Barron Amphitheatre, which is located at 4850 Colorado Avenue NW, The Friends Group Back-to-School Go-Go event, proudly stands in partnership with our Honorary Liaisons of The Honorable Ward 4 and The Honorable Prince Georges County Chairman offices.

At this time, the Friends Group welcomes the following incoming high school participants, from the following Wards, as follows:
1- Ward 4 – 50 DC high school youth,
2- Ward 5 – 20 DC high school youth,
3- Ward 7 – 20 DC high school youth.
4- Ward 8 – 20 DC high youth and
5-Prince Georges County – 30 high school youth. Each of the 110 engaging DC and Prince Georges County incoming youth shall receive three independent giveaways, for their return to their respective high school, for school year 2022-2023. In addition, your selected high school families shall acquire quality Go-Go for their professional Entertainment, good food giveaways, along with Double-Dutch and Basketball activities.

As you know, the Friends Group is committed and inspired to reopen, sustain, preserve, enhance and protect the Carter Barron Amphitheatre unique origins, architecture, landscape and legendary performance diverse history. Today, our Executive, Honorary Liaisons, and Honorable Advisory Members of the non-profit seeks to transform onto a state-of-the-art organization with culturally enrichment, educational and entertainment diverse programming for the Washington DC community, and its surrounding jurisdictions. In addition, continue our noted and only workforce performing arts training services for DC at-risk inspiring youth that culminates onto independent Off-Broadway Family Youth musical presentations, along with the new Mini-Concert series and annual Galas, through Congressional appropriations, philanthropic and community competitive resources, for its DMV patrons, and National/International visitors.

Thank you in advance, for your selection of the designated number of incoming high school youth, along with their respective adult family member(s), not to exceed a party of four (4) that includes the selected high school. In addition, the Friends Group ask that your respective Council office, kindly extend the full name of each incoming high school youth you have designated from your ward, along with their accommodating adult family member (not to exceed a party of four persons including the selected high school participant) via email, at focbfotpa@yajoo.com, must be kindly sent on/before Wednesday, August 17, 2022 by 4 pm.
